United Latinos (UL) is a
student organization of the University of Minnesota Morris
United Latinos aims to raise awareness and encourage understanding of
various Latin cultures.
We are composed of students of many ethnicities, not just Latino(a)s,
Hispano(a)s, or Chicano(a)s, and our meetings are conducted in English, so
every UMM student is welcome to join.
Organizational Goals are to:
To educate and raise awareness on our
campus and in the community about the different Latin American cultures,
traditions, and issues concerning such cultures.
To encourage self-education among the members
of different Latin American cultures and concerning the related subjects of
the history, politics, and the current individual socio-political realities
that have influenced these cultures.
To support and encourage our members in
coping with the campus and community environments as well as offering them
the opportunities to achieve high standards of scholarship and gain
worthwhile experiences through attending conferences, lectures, and
To help build continuing relationships
between Latino and non-Latino students, the campus community, and other
organizations on campus.
